I installed a pair of these on the front of my Silverado because it is OEM replacement for Z83 suspension (also OEM replacement for Z85 suspension BTW). This requires the use of a spring compressor. After all is said and done you're looking at about three hours per side if you actually take the time to use a torque wrench everywhere. It is an easy job, just arduous. And you have to be careful with that spring compressor. Fast forward two days: I'm going over a speed bump (at a reasonable speed) and I hear a noise. After doing a bumper bounce test I determined that the brand new strut that had been on for two days was dead. Totally shot. When I took the tire off I saw strut fluid all over the lower control arm. There was no sign of physical injury to the shock when I installed it. It looked perfect. So, after the store where I bought it warrantied it I had to spend another three hours switching it out again tonight in the dark. Bummer man. Even better, that warranty replacement shock went bad after a day so I had to replace THAT one also. So now the drivers side of my truck is on its third shock. Normally with Delco OEM I have good luck. This shock, which I believe is made by Tenneco was an exception. I don't know what kind of quality control they have going on there. I'm sure yours will be fine though.
