I bought this new design pump for my 2003 Chevy K2500hd 4x4 LB7 Duramax even though the Amazon fitment guide stated it would not fit. I was told by a dealer tech that this is the newest design pump installed on newer trucks, but would be a direct fit to Duramax trucks back to 2001. The difference on this new pump is that it is supposed to have a 12 spline pump instead of 10 spline in the old design and a newer valve to assist in low RPM turning. I was sceptical, but deseperate after trying old design remanufractured pumps. I tried PSC pumps, Redhead gearboxes , and a new brake hydroboost, but still had problems turning at idle and low RPM. I have had the same size tires since 2003 (285/75/16) and have replaced the ENTIRE front suspension and ALL steering components...seriously. I now have 245k miles on it. THIS PUMP FIXED MY POWER STEERING ISSUES. PERFECT FIT AND EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE.MAKE SURE TO USE OEM ORIGINAL ACDELCO POWER STEERING FLUID. Do not use other brand synthetic. I tried everything else and only OEM fluid works best and without noise.It also made my brakes much easier to push......I love my truck.
